200Hr Foundational Teacher Training & Intensive Study

led by Courtney Morgan & Julie Baron

This training was created, written, and designed by Revolver's lead teachers to prepare you to intelligently and confidently guide others. At Revolver Yoga we understand yoga as a path to personal transformation. To this end, our teacher training focuses on how to teach mindful movement using intelligent sequencing based on structural and energetic anatomy. You will learn how to hold space, how to teach creatively, safely, dynamically, and compassionately. Our program is designed to take your own practice deeper so you can lead others and you'll be supported with an enduring community of like-minded yogis and post training support and mentorship. We don't just want you to be able to create and teach amazing yoga classes (which you will), we want you to be able to take your yoga practice as far as you can.

Completing each day of this teacher training as well as regular oral and written testing will qualify you for a 200-hour Yoga Alliance certification.

Program Overview

This comprehensive training includes daily practice and meditation, practical anatomy, philosophy, strategic sequencing, finding your voice, practice teaching, interpersonal work, and technical alignment principles.

You will dive into asana - the physical poses that reflect the inner world to the outer eye; learn basic Pranayama breathing techniques; explore foundational texts such as the Yoga Sutras; develop your authentic teaching voice and technique; learn the anatomy of the body and subtle body including Chakras, Nadis, Koshas, and Vayus; and discover the sacred mantras, understand what they mean, and how to use them.

To support your unique learning process, practice, and goals, you will have unlimited access to Revolver Yoga's weekly classes and scheduled one-to-one teacher check ins for the duration of the training.

Requirements

All applicants must have at least two years of consistent yoga practice and must be available for all course modules.

A flexible body free of injuries is NOT a requirement for this training. In fact, we encourage students with all body types and/or physical challenges to consider this program. At its heart, yoga is a practice of meeting the body where it is, and then working with the body to slowly and respectfully move deeper. The struggles and challenges you will face through the course of this training will only make you a better teacher. If you are waiting for the day when you can finally get your foot behind your head to become a teacher or commit to take your practice to the next level, you may be denying yourself the opportunity of a lifetime.

In order to graduate from this program you will need perfect attendance. You will also need to practice a minimum of 50-hours, complete all assignments including observation hours, and pass the comprehensive oral and written final exam.

300Hr Advanced Teacher Training & Intensive Study

led by Courtney Morgan & Julie Baron

This training is designed to advance teachers and serious students in their understanding of functional anatomy, thoughtful and creative sequencing, methodical and safe progressions into more advanced asana, philosophy and meditation. Upon completion of this 300-hour program, students with an existing 200hr certification will qualify to become a 500-hour certified Registered Yoga Alliance teacher.

This training has been crafted into 6 weekend modules, spanning over the course of a year, for optimum assimilation and feasibility. For each module, we will meet on Friday afternoons, Saturdays and Sundays all day.

Our Approach

This program will provide you with a professional, integrative and expansive education in yoga technique, anatomy, teaching methodology, and comparative philosophies of Yoga, Buddhism, and Tantric Shaivism. Throughout the modules, precise alignment & functional anatomy come together as the foundation for this exploration into stronger shapes.

Samyama is the integration of the practices of Dharana (concentration), Dhyana (meditation) & Samadhi (union). We aim to provide the highest caliber yoga education by giving you the tools to practice and teach skillfully, think critically, and uncover your unique path. This training is designed for students of every lineage who want more depth, skill, and inspiration in their practice and teaching. Six modules comprise the complete Samyama offering, and modules can be taken individually or as a series. At the foundation, study and discussion of the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita & the Dhammapada give historical and philosophical context and understanding to the mantras, yantras, asana, pranayama and meditation we explore for an integrated and embodied understanding of the yogic path.

Courtney Morgan & Julie Baron found a natural resonance with each other when their paths came together in Walla Walla, WA. They believe yoga is an access point for more skillful navigation of both the individual and collective human experience. Both are devoted students and practitioners who have dedicated their lives to the path and teachings of yoga with a combined 30 years experience. For their individual bios, please click here.

How We Teach

Each morning is dedicated to your practice. We will begin with 15 – 30 minutes of seated meditation to help you settle in, develop evenness of mind, and witness whatever is present for you. The seated practice is followed by a complete, methodically sequenced asana practice that will encourage you to experience your physical edge and grow as a practitioner. You’ll simultaneously deepen your practice by working on advanced postures and their modifications, and enhance your teaching by assisting and adjusting your fellow yogis. You’ll learn to work with your own body in a more skillful, effective, and efficient way in order to build depth in your practice throughout your life.

Each afternoon is dedicated to becoming a more knowledgeable, confident, and insightful teacher. You will work on every aspect of teaching, from learning greater depth in anatomy, injury prevention, and intelligent sequencing for each region of the body to using purposeful, impactful language when you provide instructions. You will also generate sequences and teach segments of classes to receive Courtney and Julie's direct feedback, guidance, and mentorship.

Requirements

Serious students with a consistent yoga practice of three or more years are welcome to participate in each module as a way to deepen practice and understanding. Teachers must have a completed a 200-hour teacher training program from any yoga school or lineage in order to complete the 300hr training. Upon completion of this 300-hour program, students will qualify to become a 500-hour certified Registered Yoga Alliance teacher.
